The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) is pleased to announce the winning startup of the UACI Sponsored Launch Fueled by R&A CPAs competition. Paramium Technologies will receive one sponsored year of admission at UACI which includes venture development programming and space. R&A CPAs will also provide the winning company hours of accounting services. The total package value is $15,000 and funded by R&A CPAs. Program entrance will grant the winning startup with resources, facilities, services and expert guidance to grow their business.
Paramium Technologies’ mission is to meet the need in the radio communications industry for fast, flexible and accurate fabrication of curved metal panels via their patent-pending electromagnetic thermoforming technology. They are developing novel, adaptable methods to produce low-cost, high-precision shaped metal panels for use in communications, astronomy and architectural applications. Their patent-pending electromagnetic thermoforming technology can fabricate large, freeform compound curved metal sheets, which breaks fabrication barriers that previously limited design in these industries.
Paramium Technologies’ founders consist of Lead Engineer Justin Hyatt and Systems Engineer Christian Davila-Peralta. The team also includes Benjamin Gong, Business Manager. The underlying technology was developed at the University of Arizona through the College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Optical Sciences and licensed through Tech Launch Arizona (TLA).
Access to UACI provides this startup with a structured incubation program, customized business support and the ability to work alongside other startups in a fast-paced environment. UACI provides access to the people, programming and places needed to scale a business. Along with support, entrepreneurs have a direct line to funding opportunities and mentors who guide them in turning their idea into a product. Other tools the incubation program provides are office and lab space, a prototyping center and assistance through a 27-point roadmap that helps them with creating a business plan, identifying a target market, product development, marketing resources and much more.
“The University of Arizona has paved a smooth path from research to commercialization. We received support during our conceptual research, and Tech Launch Arizona facilitated IP protection and supported further R&D. We have also benefitted from several programs such as ICORPS and mentorship through TLA. Paramium is excited to launch and begin providing products to customers. We are grateful to UACI and R&A for this great opportunity!” shared Hyatt.
“We are thrilled to welcome Paramium Technologies to the UACI family. This startup is a perfect example of how innovators at the University of Arizona are utilizing the full continuum of entrepreneurial resources to move their idea from the lab to the market. The founders translated the research done within multiple colleges, and then licensed that technology through Tech Launch Arizona and then are bringing that licensed idea to market through our incubator thanks to financial support from community champion R&A CPAs,” shared Eric Smith, Executive Director of UACI.
“We are very excited to continue the innovation journey we started a couple of years ago when our first research results came up. We have found great support from the UArizona and the different NSF programs, like the regional and national I-Corps, where we developed customer discovery activities and studied the business and commercialization part of this journey. Now, with the UACI program we hope to enhance our chances to quickly develop a running company capable to fulfill our customers’ and future investors’ expectations,” said Davila-Peralta
“All of us at R&A are delighted with the selection of Paramium Technologies for the year-long incubation our sponsorship has helped to make possible,” said Phil Dalrymple, R&A CPAs shareholder. “Paramium’s submission was compelling, their principals are highly qualified and the technology is very exciting. Thank you to UACI for their leadership in assisting promising start-ups in our community and to our team of judges for their time and insights. We look forward to assisting Paramium during their incubation year and seeing the great work they will do.”

About the UA Center for Innovation
The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) is a startup incubator network with outposts across the Southern Arizona region and a mission to grow scalable science and technology startup ventures that fuel the Arizona economy. For nearly two decades, the program has directly served over 150 companies and impacted thousands of entrepreneurs. This is done through providing access to people, programming and places that help entrepreneurs take their companies from idea to market. Startups go through a structured program that takes them through a continuum of education provided by mentors, advisors and community collaborators. UACI also provides access to service providers, industry cluster groups, interns and connections to potential customers and strategic partners. Entrepreneurs utilize various physical spaces that include offices, wet and dry labs, meeting rooms, a prototyping center, collaboration areas and the infrastructure to support these spaces. The UACI is part of Tech Parks Arizona, which brings together university, industry and community, creating “interactive ground” to advance technology innovation.
