R&A is once again sponsoring a promising startup for a year-long incubation with the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI). Tucson-based, innovative surgical startup BioBolt Medical will receive one sponsored year of admission into the UACI incubation program as well as consultative services from R&A. Program entrance includes resources, facilities, services, and expert guidance to grow a business. The total package funded by R&A is $15,000.
BioBolt Medical has developed a breakthrough technology that allows surgeons to perform procedures with greater speed, efficiency, and precision. Based on this technology, BioBolt Medical is focused on developing a product that can pierce, manipulate, and fix a variety of meshes and tissues with the speed of a stapler and the strength of a suture.
Through the incubation program, BioBolt Medical will work alongside 75+ other startups and receive specialized facilities. They will have a direct line to UACI’s mentors and subject matter experts who will guide them in turning their idea into a product.
Phillip Dalrymple, CPA, CFE, and R&A CPAs shareholder who spearheaded this sponsorship for R&A said, “R&A CPAs is very excited to support UACI and BioBolt Medical with our sponsorship. We believe in the power of community and affecting positive change in Southern Arizona. We are proud to help further the great work UACI is doing and to provide the best opportunity possible for BioBolt Medical to succeed.”
The winning startup was selected because of their work on solutions for real-world problems and for their desire to make a significant difference in the local and global communities through innovation. BioBolt Medical’s twelve-month residency begins in June.
