The IRS has a new tool for checking when and how they have sent your 2021 Economic Impact Payment if you are eligible to receive one. Information about the tool, ‘Get My Payment,’ can be found at https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment. Or, click this link https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof-wmsp/login to directly access the tool. Information provided through the tool updates once per day, usually overnight.
The first batch of payments is being sent by direct deposit and some began receiving their payments as early as March 12. Additional batches of payments will be sent in the coming weeks by direct deposit and through the mail as a check or debit card.
When you use ‘Get My Payment,’ you will either see that a payment has been processed and whether it is to be sent by direct deposit or mail or, you are eligible, but a payment has not been processed and a payment date is not yet available. If the response you receive is ‘Payment Status Not Available,’ the IRS either has not processed your payment or you are not eligible to receive one.
